Qibla Direction
The simplest checker on the site: type a city, get two numbers — the Qibla bearing in degrees from true north, and the distance to the Kaaba. No GPS permission, no phone sensor, nothing to install. Ideal on a desktop, or when you want a figure to use with a traditional compass.
1. Set your location
Your location is used only in your browser to calculate the direction. It is never stored on a server or sent to analytics.
2. Your Qibla direction

- Karachi, Pakistan (default — set your location)
24.8608° N · 67.0011° E — this is a default city; set your own location for your exact direction.
Face 268° clockwise from true north. Phone compasses can drift — keep the phone flat, away from metal and magnets, and move it in a figure-eight to calibrate.
How it is calculated — and its limits
The bearing is the initial great-circle direction from the city's coordinates to the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). City search returns the city centre, which is precise enough: moving a few kilometres changes the bearing by only a small fraction of a degree.
To use the number with a magnetic compass, remember that a compass needle points to magnetic north, which differs from true north by a local value called declination (from about −25° to +20° depending on where you live). For prayer, the difference is small in most regions, but for the most precise direction, prefer the map line or a true-north phone compass.
How to use it
- Search for your city (or enter coordinates manually).
- Read the bearing — for example, 118.4° means face 118.4° clockwise from north, roughly south-east.
- Find north with a compass or landmark, turn by the bearing, and that is your Qibla.

Frequently asked questions
What does 'degrees from true north' mean?
Stand facing true north and turn clockwise by that many degrees. 0° is north, 90° east, 180° south and 270° west. A simple compass app, a printed compass rose, or the sun can help you find north first.
Is the direction the same for a whole country?
No. The bearing changes with position — across a large country it can vary by more than ten degrees. Always check your own city rather than using a national figure.
Can I use this on a desktop computer?
Yes — this page needs no sensor and no GPS. Search for the city and read the degrees. That is exactly what it was built for.
